Domestic and commercial Energy Performance Certificates inform prospective buyers or tenants about the energy performance of a building so it can be considered as part of their investment.
The EPC will provide an energy rating from A-G and is based on the energy performance potential of the property (fabrics) and its services (heating, ventilation, lighting).
All domestic and commercial EPCs must be produced by an accredited Energy Assessor and are accompanied by a Recommendation Report, which will highlight measures to enhance the buildings energy performance. EPCs are valid for a 10 year period and there are financial penalties in place for non-compliance.
An energy performance certificate ‘epc’ is also required to claim higher rate Feed-in Tariffs for Solar PV, for which you need to achieve an EPC rating of D or above.
Utilitywise will undertake all necessary EPC services to ensure full legal compliance with the requirements of the EPBD.
We are able to utilise a large team of accredited Energy Assessors to deliver Level 3, 4 and 5 commercial EPCs and can accommodate Domestic EPC buildings if required.

“The service provided by Utilitywise on the EPC assessment on our HQ at County Hall was exceptionally good. The assessor went the extra mile to understand our needs and engage us in the process so that all relevant factors were taken into account to produce an accurate assessment that reflected the true energy performance of the buildings. For example, the assessor obtained the results of performance tests on the efficiency of the installed boilers instead of using less accurate default values. The assessor also provided added value by modelling different energy improvements scenarios that would produce the greatest improvement in the EPC rating to help inform our priorities for future building works.”
