The Role

Utilitywise are looking for software engineers to join our fast paced and growing company.

We are interested in meeting with candidates who are keen to learn and progress within a technically challenging role.  We are offering technical training, a great working environment and a competitive salary.

This role is based in the UK.

Responsibilities

You will be working on a suite of applications using technologies such as Visual Studio, C#, MVC and SQL Server.

You will work to an agile software development process using Scrum methodologies and you will be assigned tasks that cover the full development lifecycle: from conceptual stages through to implementation. You will work closely with a talented team of developers.

Projects include developing client facing web-based software, web-services and software solutions to meet client requirements. Clients include FTSE 100 companies, Blue-chip companies and Government agencies/Local Authorities.

Qualifications/Training

Essential

  • BSc or higher in software development/computer science or similar

Experience

Essential

  • Excellent Object Orientated programming knowledge and practical experience;
  • Good understanding of IOC, Unit testing, Design patterns and ORMs.

  • Organised, Focused, Intellectual, Committed, Enthusiastic, Methodical, Positive;
  • Must be self-motivated and eager to design and develop advanced innovative solutions;
  • Must be process driven and demonstrate a clear understanding of software development processes;
  • Must have an eye for detail and quality;
  • Must be a  clear communicator – must be able to clearly and concisely communicate technical issues with developers and managers;
  • Commitment to personal development and to the development process;
  • Must have excellent time keeping;
  • Must have the ability to discuss technical ideas with development team and propose new approaches and technologies.
