Location: UK Flexible – Home Based or from one of our offices

The Role

Utilitywise has the ambition to develop into a leading provider of services for SME and Corporates across the UK through the identification and targeting of relationships that can successfully deliver new revenue and profitability. We are now seeking an experienced and effective Affiliate Partnerships Senior Manager to drive growth in this channel.

These may be existing relationships that Utilitywise has with energy suppliers or through the development of  new product / service partners – for example, UK commercial insurance market.

The Affiliate Partnerships Senior Manager is responsible for implementing a multi-utility and capability strategy capable of delivering sustainable and profitable growth. They will own and manage the evaluation, identification and successful execution of opportunities across the SME and Corporate sectors.

This role will require the postholder to work closely with Product teams to identify key opportunity areas and potential partners; as well as bringing forward new opportunities into Utilitywise based on their own network and/or experience. The remit will include the assessment of multi-million pound opportunities to meet Utilitywise targets.

The Affiliate Partnerships Senior Manager will engage internally up to CEO level, including local leadership teams within Utilitywise, such as Operations, Legal, Product, Marketing Communications, Finance and Compliance. Externally, the postholder will engage up to Director level to secure the channel opportunity for Utilitywise.

This is a full time, permanent role.

KPI’s

  • An agreed sector and prospecting list;
  • Implementation of all partnerships identified;
  • Utilitywise revenue target achievement;
  • All suppliers managed within terms of agreement;
  • Active prospect pipeline and contact database;
  • Fully compliant sales process;
  • Utilitywise revenue target achievement.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for implementation of multi-utility SME strategy across Utilitywise;
  • Accountable for identification, targeting and engagement with prospective partners;
  • Responsible for clear strategy alignment with Product Management;
  • Responsible for the negotiation of commercial terms with potential partners;
  • Develop a plan to maximise the value of each partnership in conjunction with the product and marketing team leads;
  • Own the on-going iteration of Utilitywise multi-product strategy;
  • Create and own individual product / sector / partner plans;
  • Ensure the overall strategy and plans to execute are clearly articulated across all Utilitywise stakeholders – ensuring matrix buy-in where necessary;
  • Take responsibility for developing and maintaining a prospect database;
  • Manage sales process from universe, prospecting through to contract signing;
  • Responsible for all new partnership engagement required by Utilitywise;
  • Own qualification of opportunity and development of business case to Utilitywise Exec;
  • Accountable for the negotiation of commercial terms with potential partners;
  • Support product management team in engaging (as appropriate) partners that can deliver key product / service areas.

Qualifications/Training

Desirable

  • Business degree / commercial professional qualification preferred.

Experience

Essential

  • Demonstrated success in bringing new products and services to market through partnership;
  • 10+ years of partnership development, ideally within a B2B market;
  • Demonstrated success in engaging with partners from small to well-known UK brands;
  • Track record of success in New Business sales and deals;
  • Comfortable assessing multi-million £ opportunities and making clearly considered decisions;
  • Experience in creating robust, clear and articulate business plans and growth strategies, and able to secure support and investment for them at board level;
  • Track record of managing senior management within partnerships.

Desirable

  • Good understanding of digital tools to support development of our strategy;
  • Good regulatory understanding gained from working within regulated sectors, e.g. financial services.

Customers are based throughout the UK and in the Republic of Ireland, across a variety of industry sectors and the public sector, and range in size from small single site customers to large multi-site customers. In total Utilitywise has c.38,000 customers split across the two divisions; enterprise and corporate.

The Group has achieved strong revenue growth to date, seeing revenues rise from £11.7m in the financial year ended 31 July 2011 to £84.5m at financial year end July 2016.
