Latest figures from the EA regarding ESOS Phase 1 compliance have been published in their December ESOS newsletter:
- Around 2,400 organisations have been investigated.
- Approximately 240 participants have been gained through Enforcement Notices.
- Roughly, a further 190 Enforcement Notice cases are still ongoing.
In addition, there are also a number of cases being investigated and enforced by UK devolved administrations.
Civil penalty proceedings have been started by the EA against a number of organisations that have so far failed to comply with ESOS Phase 1. The EA has confirmed that these will be published on .Gov.UK in due course, showing that fines are not the only risk; companies will be named and shamed if they do not comply with ESOS legislation.
Utilitywise can help you comply
It’s clear that though the Phase 1 compliance deadline passed more than two years ago, the EA is working hard to bring organisations into compliance. The message for Phase 2 is clear as well – with that compliance deadline now less than two years away – start compliance now, don’t get left behind.
To date, we’ve helped more than 270 organisations comply with Phase 1 of the Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme, finding on average savings of three times the cost of compliance, with an average of 18% kWh savings per organisation.
Whether you’ve received an enforcement notice for Phase 1, or are looking for assistance with your ESOS Phase 2 compliance, Utilitywise can help. You may even achieve Phase 1 compliance much faster than you think.
