We only advise clients on areas which we feel could benefit them; never pushing a service for our own gain. For example, we are currently educating UK businesses about the recent water market deregulation. Many companies are unaware that they are now able to switch suppliers, let alone the benefits which can be reaped from actually switching. We are providing support to clients, ensuring that their water contracts are as suitable for them as their energy contracts.
Some of our best advice comes through our compliance services. By assessing the compliance needs of our clients we have helped them avoid over £10,000,000 of penalties in the last three years.
Best Customer Service
We believe in forging strong, lasting relationships with our clients. One way we benchmark ourselves against our competitors, in terms of the service we provide, is by measuring our Net Promoter Score (NPS). This score is impacted by only one question, which we ask our clients through regular client satisfaction surveys; “how likely are you to recommend us?”
Our current NPS is world-class at +59. In an industry where clients have very low trust in the ‘Big Six’ energy suppliers, whose average NPS is -36, this highlights the trust our clients have in us to manage thousands of their UK meters and sites.
Energy Buying Team
We pride ourselves on our knowledge and understanding of the energy market; our people are highly regarded within the industry and are specialists in their respective fields.
It is our mission to educate; raising the level of awareness about the energy market and factors driving it. Our clients are offered a range of both fixed and flexible procurement options. Our goal is to ensure that clients are able to make informed decisions relating to their energy needs and select suitable contracts catered to their individual circumstances. Since 2014 we’ve locked in £63,000,000 of savings for our flexible procurement clients.
We have a specialist team with extensive knowledge of the electricity, gas, water, oil, coal and carbon markets, and the fundamentals driving them. We are able to provide a range of easily digestible market reports depending on our clients’ needs. One key area where we can help is Triad forecasts. During the winter of 2016/17 we hit all three Triad periods, issuing just ten red alerts, lower than any other TPI or supplier. By issuing fewer alerts we ensure our clients are not unnecessarily disrupted from their day-to-day business practices.
We can also offer clients a Long-Term Price Forecast Report which details delivered pricing for the next five years and illustrates the growing proportion of non-commodity costs; it can be referenced when making critical business decisions and justifying investment opportunities.
Looking at factors such as the Cornwall Report and our +59 NPS (when any score above +40 is considered world-class), suppliers can feel confident that we deliver a high quality service to our clients, and as such will continue providing business for them.
One of our key strategic priorities is “Customers for Life”. We work to build relationships based on trust and deliver on the promises we make. As such, we need to ensure that we are fully capturing their business needs and providing a service which is tailored to these.
We provide clients with a complete strategic proposition for all of their utility management needs, via our Strategic Utility Management Plan offering. From energy procurement to carbon compliance, IoT controls and an intelligent bureau, we’ve got an enviable and unique market solution.
We manage over 20TWh of energy a year – more than Puerto Rico or Iceland used in 2016!

This means that we can support our clients’ current requirements, whilst also pushing the boundaries through Innovation. In Collaboration with our clients, and external influences, our goal is to deliver effective solutions which support them, whilst also seeking to transform and diversify the utilities market.
